It does not matter whether one is sick or healthy, people don't pass away necessarily because they are sick, sickness isn't a gate way to kick the bucket. Times and chances happen to every one alike. Death is one thing nobody enjoys to hear or talk about. Only a few understands the benefits of the death of a righteous man or woman. People fear death mainly for lack of the knowledge of the life after this time; only if they know, they would wish it were their turn to go. Of course, it is a reality for all to face one day after another at an appointed time for each person, which always seem to come sudden to many.
Nobody can refuse to say goodbye to the earth and loved ones after this time because he hates to hear or think about the hour of departure from the earth. I believe that what is right for us to do is to understand what is next after this time, this lifetime, instead of allowing ourselves to be held up in fear and agony of the pains of leaving this world behind one day. The same way a man who lives in a city for many years feels to travel with his whole family back to his home town, supposed he is married and with children, for the fear of uncertainty of comfortable accommodation since he has no personal building in his village, nor is there enough rooms in the general family house for everyone to be comfortable; that is how a man who has no knowledge of what awaits the dead after this time or life fears for the expiration of his or her time on earth.
Whether it will be Good or Bad, we shall all be gone some day, but what do we know and understand about the life after this time, when our breath is lost, and beauty goes cold, and there is no more time to continue our stay here, what becomes your hope and my expectation? What is your assurance for the life after this time? It is a serious matter for all to answer. Before we take our time to look into what JESUS says concerning the hope of glorious life after death, eternal life, in his Father's house/kingdom, to assure us that where we are leaving this earth to go, after this time is 100% better and glorious than all that we will be missing when we are done with the reason or purpose of our birth faithfully. Let us examine our individual work in the measure of our invested time here.
Will our time actually be over one day? Will it really be passed, or is it perpetual? Is the time temporal, or it is for a fixed or defined time? See what the Bible says: “Every human being is appointed to die once, and then to face God’s judgment [be weighed on the reward scale of God (Hebrews 9:27, TPT). Also, “People are destined to die once and then face judgment” (Hebrews 9:27, CEB). There is one thing about the realities of the Scriptures. Others may hold the truth of the Holy Bible in ignorance, arguing what is not open to them to their own ruin, but we that are of the faith of the Word of Life, we take every Word of GOD as ultimate reality, unamendable Truth. Friend, it is an appointment to be alive. The appointment expires as fixed or ordained by the One who has offered us the opportunity to be born or partakers of the gift of life. It sounds like a deal. It sounds like an accountable investment: what everyone will bring in his or her gain or life dividend; that is what it is, the reality of life. We are on a journey, an assigned appointment, that qualifies everyone of us for work and reward, eternal rewards.
JESUS Christ made clear the revelation of what this reward we shall receive from Him is, God, the Father of all Spirit, our Father and His who has signed this privilege/deal with us, His inheritances. Jesus says, “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust in me. There are many rooms in my father’s house; I would not tell you this if it were not true. I am going there to prepare a place for you. After I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me so that you may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going” (John 14:1-4, NCV).
I tell you the truth, it is a beautiful thing to see that you have faithfully reach the end of the time, if your side of the appointment is not breached. Many people fear the end of the contract, because they know they do just nothing about the assignment or purpose of their life/appointment. Yes, there is nobody that is meant to fear when the hour of his Glory has come if he has done well, a time to be offered Prize for job well done, it is a time of joy and rejoicing.
You will only need to fear when you are not sure you win or lose. I remember when we were still in primary school, during my time, the government school I attended in the village didn't have anything like report card for result. At the end of every term, we gathered under a tree to hear our teachers call out our respective class's result. At the beginning of the exercise, everything just looks scary, I use to suffer from terrible heart beats then, because until the teacher is done calling the result, you will not know your fate; whether you were going to fail or take the last position, or pass as the case may be.
You can also take your time to find out from people who normally participate, and often win in circular competitions or athletes, they don't use to entertain any fear on Prize giving day. They are sure of how the final event will play out. They can predict it because they always win. They are undoubtedly sure that the Prize will go to the winner, not the loser.
FREIND, what is your assurance of the hour, after this time/life? How well are you handling the assignment of the Master? How far have you gone with the assignment of your appointment, your mission to this earth, do you know what it Really is? Or did you abandon it for something else; either for pleasure, amazement, or for the pursuit of mundane things?
Life is an appointment, an investment; everyone will account for the task of his life, appointment. How well have you known yours, your life purpose? How well are you carrying it out? How well are you preparing to be evaluated or judged or weighed on the Master's scale after this time is over?
Please don't waste your life on things that have no eternal relevance. If we in anyway labour our life on vanities of this present world, they who labour for vanity, things outside Christ's Will for them, will suffer the loss of everything after this time, including their soul. Only what is done for the GLORY of GOD will endure forever. May that not be our portion in Jesus’ name, but we must ensure we run the race that is set before us with the aim to win, the crown of eternal life, the Prize that does not fade away nor corrupt.
Thanks for the gift of your time, I am John Ojoagbene!
