There is nothing we saw Jesus did on the face of the earth that we can't do likewise. Jesus lived 100% man in God’s Will on the earth. Put in other words, Jesus lived as a full man on the earth in the Will of God. The major difference between Jesus and the people of His generation was that “HE WAS A OF GOD’S WILL”. Apart from that, everything the people did to keep living and not die, He equally did; He slept, ate food, drank water, went to market, went to toilet, fetched water, and took His bathe like everyone else. He was 100 percent a Son of man, and at same time 100 percent a Son of God, just as He is, so are we sons (or children) of God. (See John 1:12–13.)
When we get to heaven, Jesus will not claim the citizenship of the Kingdom of Heaven than you (and I), only that our rewards won't be the same because our works (the Will of God that each of us have done) are not the same. “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad” (2 Cor. 5:10).” The same way Jesus made boast of God as His Father everywhere doing good works, that is same way God wants you to make boast of Him, that He is your Father and God, and you are committed to His will among men.
But the truth is this, can you say you are the son (or a daughter) of God doing the Will of your Father, if you are not? Can you lie to God in who’s eyes the grave is not hidden, that He won't know? Seek your portion in God, so you can lay hold of your spiritual blessings in Him, to rule the world just as Jesus did.
When He (Jesus) was done on the scene, and it was time for Him to return to our Father, He said:
I ascend to MY FATHER AND YOUR FATHER, MY GOD AND YOUR GOD. As many that believe in Me [that I am sent by the Father and have done nor say anything by My authority, but by the Spirit of the Father], whatever I do, they will do likewise. (See John 20:17, 14:12.)
Do you believe this truth? The only difference that can ever be between us and the apostles of old is just the matter of believe. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians chapter 4 verse 13: “And since we have the same Spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak’’. It is a question of Faith, believing the Word of Jesus. The matter is not that Peter whose shadow was healing the sick was a professor of theology and ministerial study, and perhaps, we are not. Spiritual authority is completely a matter of believe, faith in the Word of God — the truth. Without faith in Him, the Word, we can do nothing!
“I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.” This truth is wholesome! It is the identity that every single individual that has come to God through Christ Jesus has inherited. He is our God; He is our Father. Do you believe this? Jesus didn’t struggle with it; He believed it from the very beginning. At age 12, He was already confessing it everywhere He went: “And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”
Who do you say you are? What do you make boast of that men know that you are?
Of course, you don’t have to go and obtain a degree in Divinity, or Ministry Science, before you can claim your inheritance in the Fatherhood of God. You are a son, and you are at the center of God’s Will. You have been ordained for impact long before you were ever formed in your mother’s womb. The only reason you have to doubt this, is if you have not come to God in Christ Jesus: if you have not believed that Jesus’ death was your death (your crucifixion with Him). It cost nothing else to know God’s Will for you other than coming to Him in Christ. For as many who have returned to the Father in Christ Jesus found life, and the purpose of the life they have received all in Christ.
If we can't replicate the works of Jesus in our days, it isn't that God has changed, but we are the ones who have changed from following our God just as Jesus did.
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore, God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:5-11.)
The same way we desire, or we are expected by our Father to do the works of Jesus, and even more than He did, that is still how our Father also expects that we must bear the life of Jesus, the lifestyle of Jesus, in the part of the world that we have found ourselves. We can't fake it, if it is not real, it is not true. God can't be mocked, the same mindset and motive we put into the affairs of the Kingdom, that is the quality of result we can take out of it.
One thing Jesus' life was centered around was doing the Will of the Father, He followed all to the last letter. What has become our attitude to the Will of God for us today? Do you know the Will of God that you must do on the earth? Or you are among those who think God has no intention for you? It is a big unrighteousness to count God unfaithful in failing to include you in His Will? No friend! Never think so! Just as Jesus Christ is unique in the Will of God, the same way God has a unique plan in His Will for you to live and do.
You (or I) wouldn't be right if on that day when all saints shall gather round the throne, and each one of us is rewarded according to the work he or she has done, then you are saying, "Lord, I didn't know you also allocated a work for me to do in your Will". That will not be our portion in Jesus’ name, but it is only when we have known it, and have done it, what His Will is for you (or I), that we wouldn't be counted unfaithful sons and daughters.
