I'm so excited for the opportunity given to me by God to connect with you. We will be looking at something important and I want us to be very attentive. There is a question in my spirit that is going to be thrown also to us so that we can review this matter together and learn whatever the Holy Spirit wants us to learn. The question is, "Isn't your silence, a denial of your divine posting?" Isn't your silence a denial? Another word for denial is a betrayal of your divine calling or your divine posting? That's the question we want to look at. Because the truth is, in spite of our numerical strength as men and women called by the Lord, there's still so much land to be conquered. There's still so much going on in our societies.
So many people are ignorant of God, the power of God, the wisdom of God is not yet percolated through the various layers of our societies, it is not yet dissolved into different segments of our lives. And so, you ask: isn't God represented by men and women across the nations? How come there is still something missing, something that needs to be done in spite of our number? So, the question we must ask is, isn't our silence a betrayal, or a denial of the call of God on our lives? Indeed, God has called us. Indeed, God has appointed us. There is a version of the Bible we are going to read now that mentions the word God as appointed us. Another word is God has posted us.
Where you are today, the truth is; it is not by accident. You didn't just figure it out. You didn't just wake up one day and said, you want to be where you are. God has ordered your steps here. The Bible says “the steps of the righteous are ordered by the Lord.” Haven been ordered by the Lord, we must do the demands, we must do the biddings of our orderings. God who has ordered us has not done it just because he needed to do something. He has done it for a goal. So, I want us to go to the book of Isaiah chapter 62 and I will be reading from 1-7. Let me read from New International Version. The Bible says:
For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,
for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet,
till her vindication shines out like the dawn,
her salvation like a blazing torch.
2 The nations will see your vindication,
and all kings your glory;
you will be called by a new name
that the mouth of the Lord will bestow.
3 You will be a crown of splendor in the Lord’s hand,
a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
4 No longer will they call you Deserted,
or name your land Desolate.
But you will be called Hephzibah,[a]
and your land Beulah[b];
for the Lord will take delight in you,
and your land will be married.
5 As a young man marries a young woman,
so will your Builder marry you;
as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride,
so will your God rejoice over you.
6 I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem;
they will never be silent day or night.
You who call on the Lord,
give yourselves no rest,
7 and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem
and makes her the praise of the earth.
May the Lord bless the reading of His word in our hearts in Jesus’ name. Now, if you consider what we just read now, you will see God involved, you will see Zion or Jerusalem involved, and then you will see a personality who says, He will not remain silent. So, you can see the land, you can see a man who had a responsibility over the land, and you can see the God of the land. In fact, in my note, I established about five distinct personalities in the verses we just read. I noted the city, the city walls, the city walls’ watchmen, I also realized city inhabitant, and I concluded with city God. So, for Jerusalem, there was the walls of the city. And there were the men who were appointed as watchmen over the city. And they were inhabitants of the city, and there was God over the city.
So, we can remember these as we continue. In Amplified Version of the Bible, Isaiah 62:1, the Bible says, “For Zion’s sake will I [Isaiah] not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest until her imputed righteousness and vindication go forth as brightness, and her salvation radiates as does a burning torch.” It now says in verse two: “And the nations shall see your righteousness…” The question is: "Who was he referring to? He was referring to the city. Isaiah acknowledged that God has positioned him in a specific place of responsibility, and while he is there, he vowed, he says: he would never be silent. He says, For Zion’s sake, I Isaiah will not keep silent, for Jerusalem’s sake, I will not remain quiet. And I will do this until her righteousness shines out like the dawn, I will do it until her salvation like a blazing torch. And when I'm able to do these, what will happen is that nations will see the righteousness of the city, nations will see the righteousness of the inhabitants of the city. And by these, all the kings will even see the glory of the city and the people of it. And so, they will give the city and the people of the city a new name, which the mouth of the Lord will bestow. And so, the city and its inhabitants, will become the crown of splendour in the hands of the Lord, a royal diadem in the hand of God.
So, no longer will people outside the city called the city deserted, or named the land desolate. Why? Because I Isaiah will know remain silent, I will not be quiet. So, we must understand that the responsibility by God given to Isaiah has a direct link to the peace and prosperity of Jerusalem. So, if Jerusalem would become an envy to all others, then Isaiah needed to function in the place that God has placed him. Now before you think it's just about Isaiah, Isaiah there mentioned by the Spirit of God what the Lord has said to him. In Isaiah 62:6, God said: I have posted… not Isaiah, Isaiah did not have the authority to post it was God, the God of the city who said concerning Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen on your walls, oh Jerusalem. They will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord give yourself no rest.
I don't know how many of us who have ever found the sun resting. Have you ever woken up one day and then you were wondering where's the sun? Every day you wake up, the sun rises, the sun never rests. Why? God has posted the sun there; God has set the sun in the firmament of the heavens to give lights. It is set in the heavens, but the responsibility is to give light to the inhabitants of the earth. And so as long as the sun does not rest, we the inhabitants of the earth will never lack the service of the sun. We never lacked the relevance of the sun. That is how God has set each one of us in life, in ministries, in different places. God has positioned us, in different cities, in different countries, in different organizations; in different communities, in different generations so that we can remind God the promises of God over that generation, over the city, over the family, over the various places God has posted us.
But if we are in those places, but yet quiet, what happens is that we are denying our posting, we are denying we are betraying the demands, or we are betraying the duties of our calling, of our divine posting. And if you do that, God will judge you. I'm sure we don't want to be judged by God as having been unfaithful in our callings. And so, it's important we realize that it is God who posts. God posts men over the walls of nations, God posts men over the walls of cities, God posts men over the walls of organizations. And the Bible says the men that God has posted over these walls, they have a responsibility, never to keep silent. They have a responsibility to keep reminding God the promises of God over the city: Lord, you've said we are the head we will never be the tail. Lord, we ask that your grace be upon us. Let us never be the tail in Jesus’ name. Lord, you've promised that you will supply our needs according to your riches in glory. Please do it in Jesus’ name. Lord, you have said that we will serve the Lord our God, and you will bless our bread and our water you will take away sicknesses away from us. Lord, please don't forget your promise. Please take away sicknesses away from us. Please, oh Lord, bless our bread and water in the name of Jesus.
You see, that is the responsibility that God has given to his watchmen. If God has positioned you as a watchman over your city, over your family, you must function. Don’t blame God for lack of supply, you should blame yourself for lack of presence and lack of relevance on the city walls, on the family walls, on the organization walls that God has put you. God has plans for everyone. But God has positioned every watchman to remind Him of those plans. Don't think God is forgetful but God wants you to be responsible. Our God is not forgetful. Our God only wants us to be responsible people, responsible watchmen. You know I said earlier that I listed a few things in my note: the city, city walls, city walls watchmen, city inhabitants, city God. I noted a phrase in front of each one of them and I want to share with us.
The first thing I noted is about the city. I noted that the city is ever in need of help. I also noted that the city walls are ever present for help. The city walls watchmen must be there in times of need. The city inhabitants are ever yearning for help. The city God is ever willing to help. I just want us to think about these things. The city God is ever willing to help, the city inhabitants are ever yearning for help, the city walls watchmen, they must be there in times of need of the people for help, and city walls must ever be present for help, the city itself is usually in need of help.
That's what the Lord has laid in my heart to share with us today. As men and women called into the ministry, if you keep silent in speaking to God, if you keep silent in speaking to the people on behalf of God, then you are betraying your ministry. The ministry that God has given to us is considered to be the ministry of reconciliation. It is the Ministry of mediation. It is the Ministry of you speaking to God on behalf of the people. It is the Ministry of you speaking to the people on behalf of God, every time God has a message you must speak, you must not fear the people and then disregard God. Every time God speak, you must speak to the people. Every time the people are in need of help, don’t say: God is not blind now, God sees what is going on. God is not deaf now; God hears what is going on.
You have a responsibility to remind Him. He has asked you to do it, don’t say again, "Why should I do it?" Since you were appointed for the same reason? I trust God that God has reached out to you, God has brought his word Himself to you. I want you to meditate on these things. Don't keep silent. Speak for God in front of the people. Speak for the people in the presence of God. And as you do that, you will be blessed in Jesus’ name because as the Lord blesses the city, the Lord blesses the watchmen of the city. The prosperity of the city is the prosperity of the watchmen of the city.
God bless you!
