Please, permit me to ask you these questions: If the world were to come to an end in the next hour, and eternity was to open for every one of us, what do you think would be your most regretted action, decision or unfinished task for the life you have spent? ...what exactly would you miss, or regret you did if there were to be no time to continue living on earth after this very minute? If you would not mind; I plead with you to give those questions some time to ensure you have an answer.
A lot of lives had gone through the earth, and so many that lived in the past or who are still living; at one point or the other (even some at death point) are found lamenting over one disappointment and the other they encountered on their life’s journey. But the question we are to concern ourselves with is that, was what they lost (found lamenting over) the worse predicament of their lives?
If you want to understand how much you have gained in life or have lost in life; I advise you to take a moment to mirror the life of Jesus Christ in the four gospels (Matthew, ...& John). Meditate on His numerous exploits while He was on earth bodily (full flesh and blood). If you would be sincere, I do not think you need anyone to tell you if you're wasting your life, or living your life.
"Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; Before you were born, I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5).
I have come to discover after observing the life of Christ Jesus (our perfect life model) that many people (including children of God) will miss living their original lives (the real people God has predestined, anointed or fashioned them to be before exiting the earth).
As we see from the life of Jeremiah in the scripture mentioned earlier. Do you think Jeremiah would have still fulfilled the purpose of God for his life (in his generation) if he had ended up being the President of the World Bank in his lifetime? I know your answer is the same as mine. NO. He would have missed his divine calling and purpose. He would have ended up a successful divine failure: he was in the known of God but was ignorant of his true identity, which would have rendered him guilty of God's eternal judgement.
What would your generation have missed if you were not born? ...or what would your generation be missing after you have exited the earth? Or what will both the heaven and earth applaud you for, for living in your generation?
Dear, if there could be anything worth regretting life being spent, then, it is you failing to live the life you were meant to have lived on the earth as ordained by the Lord. Failing the purpose that necessitated your birth and place or location of birth.
Oh! What a loss! That you were fashioned and framed to be a light bearer, a kingdom voice (a voice of hope to a nation or a people); but you ended up as head of the operation at CBN. What a miserable end, that you were divinely crafted and graced by the Lord to be financial needs meet to orphans and the less privileged across nations, but you ended up being a pastor or general overseer of a denomination. You were meant to be a leader to leaders in the world of politics; a light in the darkness, but you ended up as a medical doctor.
What a life wasted!
What a divine loss of investment! Can you ever forgive yourself for failing to live your best life (God-ordained purpose for your life) when you discover it too late, either at old age when only little could be done; or in eternity where nothing else could be done again?
Friend! Please, don't waste your life. If you are reading this message today, then, it is not too late for you yet. You can still live your best life to the glory of God with eternity in view. All that matters the most in life is what God says about a person or a matter.
Allow your life into the hands of the Lord Jesus. Genuinely handle your life to Jesus. Seek His face in prayers, He will hear you because you have become one of His. Be committed to the study and meditation of the word and His Spirit (who can build you up in the knowledge of Him and His image and likeness to the glory of God).
Don't stop there, seek to know or discover the mission of your life to the earth. Know it and pursue it, and live fulfilling it for the rest of your life. You are for a great function in the land of the living. Amen.
Thanks for the gift of your time, I am John Ojoagbene!
