In many local churches yesterday (Sunday), I believe among other Scriptures, God's people were asked to declare that "...my God shall supply all my need accords to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19). While such declaration is good, we must not get confused, as there are many people who have declared them without much proofs to show. While declaring that Scripture makes God's power for provisions available, there is something that makes you able to access God's power for provision.

In the book of Deuteronomy 8:18, the Scriptures says, "And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day." Contrary to what many of us have been taught in life, it is God that gives man power to get wealth. Wealth that is gotten through dishonesty and greed, cannot last; neither can it be fulfilling.

In our societies today, money is the drive (motive) for many good or bad behaviors of the people. It has been realized that an average person could do anything as long as he or she gets the right price. Implying very clearly that many of us are still far from the real experience of wealth: for no man can have wealth and still have a price tag on his head.

In actual sense, God gives wealth, He makes life comfortable for His people. However, not all His people enjoy what God makes available for them. Prayer is good for having wealth, but wealth from God comes for a purpose. For every wealth from God is for a work of God on earth. Implying that God gives wealth to whomsoever He gives His work to. Therefore, the secret of accessing God's wealth is receiving God's work. Like it has been said, for every vision from the Lord, there is a pro for it. Every vision of God compels His provision.

Let us learn a few lessons from the life of one man in history who could be called a billionaire in our day - the man called Abraham.

If you read through the book of Genesis 24, you will see how Abraham commissioned his most senior servant for a work - a work of finding a suited life partner for his son. Because the work involves traveling for a long time, see what the servant got as part of the accessories of the assignment he was given:

"Then the servant took ten of his master's camels and departed, for all his master's goods were in his hand. And he arose and went to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor."

Genesis 24:10

While it may look like the servant just took a few camels from his master stock, if you read the entire chapter, you would realize the quantum of valuables he took along for the journey - jewels of silver, gold and clothing and other precious things. Even though he was a servant, he went also with other servants of his master, whose responsibilities were to serve him. If you therefore consider the experience of this servant of Abraham, you will acknowledge that it was nothing short of wealth. He was sent out richly! That is it, each time God sends a man on any errand, He sends out richly. Nobody works for God at his or her own expense, the Master responsibly meet their needs.

Therefore, beyond the declaration of your mouth, you must align your life with the assignment of your birth to lay claim to the wealth of your work in life. Remember, as soon as the servant was commissioned, he claimed his wealth. For you to also claim your own wealth in God, you must respond to your life mission. You must find the work you were born to do and you must begin it now. May God who gave you the work help you to retrace your path back to His rich purpose for your life in Jesus name. Amen.
