Please, sir, don't make it look as if the devil is powerful enough to stop our progress, don't help the devil to bring us into believing or thinking that the devil can stand on top of our progress and stop the move of God in our lives. Of course, he cannot! How do you think that would ever be possible, that the devil could stop the God in you (and me) from making progress? God forbid that anyone should achieve this, not even the whole demons in existence teaming up with Lucifer against the purpose of God for anyone of us can bring it to pass.
The only hindrance that God can ever experience in the life of an individual is the person himself or herself. Because if a door is locked no matter the desire of anyone to reach you with whatever he has is not possible except you have opened to Him. God only needs your willingness, agreement with Him, and trust in Him to showcase you, bring His counsel for your life to pass. He does not even need the permission of your parents because He is Father to fathers.
"Then Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court, and said: “O Lord God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You?”
(2 Chronicles 20:5-6, NKJV)
If God ever give the devil a moment of hindering or fighting your progress at anytime (that very moment that it seems the enemies are gaining hand in the agenda of God for your life), there is something definite God wants to achieve with it. It is not necessarily that the devil came with his power and asked God to put a stop or a hold in your life, no, no, not at all. It will never happen anytime until heaven and the earth are passed away.
When you find yourself in such moment, it is not a time to give credit to the devil as if he is winning the battle. But it is a time to build your faith more, love God more. Make Him know He has done enough already, and you are very sure greater days are ahead for you in His hands. Wait faithfully trusting Him to do His wonders in your life at His set time. If it won't end well, He wouldn't commit Himself! That's God for you. Confess your love and faith in Him, and exalt Him as Lord God over the Strom and present situation.
When Satan withstood apostle Paul from going to Roman at a point in his earthly work of Grace, it was in line with the agenda of God so that Paul could write to them, a book that will be relevant for our spiritual consumptions today. If Paul had gone to Roman according to how he planned it, there won't be letter to the Romans in your Bible and mine today.
The Bible said, if the kings of the earth had known that the death of Jesus will result to both spiritual and physical victory and freedom and glory for many, they wouldn't have crucified the Lord of Glory. God allowed the devil in his foolishness ever losing but never comes to the understanding of the powerlessness of his person, to have Jesus crucified.
The Lord allowed the devil to succeed for a season in the life of Job in the Book of Job, because God has purposed to showcase the integrity of a Man's confidence and trust in Him. Sir, don't be too carried away by the storyline of the moment, if it won't make sense, God will not permit it. If it won't bring forth beauty from your ashes, God wouldn't have allowed it to come your way or contend with you. He had all figured out including your way of escape to Victory, more Glory.
Regardless of the difference in your expectations and your present reality, hold on, if you don't faint now, God will showcase you at the set time. The devil is too weak to make the God in you not to make progress with His agenda in you. That can't be true even if your present reality would want to make you think so. Jehovah God is the Lord, and He is alone in the order of His government and kingship. He is unquestionably mindful of every bit of your details. Hold on until victory is won!!!
