We live in a world of "tags"; if you're too focused in life, people will call you names. If you are not serious, you will be called names as well; in actual fact, we often life by and for the names we are called. Among the names that an average man or woman do not want to be associated with in various societies of this world is, "Sluggish or Slacking". And because of our disdain for such names, we appear to know what to do at all things; and we often act as swiftly as possible. Not only do we desire and work hard to do things very quickly and get quick results; we also love to speak very quickly and get quick responses from people.

While this attitude may give us names that we love to hear from others, it also positions us in dangerous positions where errors are easy and prone.

"A wise man is strong, yes, a man of knowledge increase strength; for by wise counsel you will wage your own war, and in multitude of counsellors there is safety."
Proverbs 24:5-6

While many of us will love to act very quickly in difficult or challenging situations to prevent shame or failure or lack; we often act without much counsel or advice. Wisdom is not just meant for the sage or philosophers; wisdom is for our daily living. When we consider our options holistically, we stand a better chance of having an holistic view of every situation; and thus, make the best of every opportunity or moment.

Single brothers and sisters do not need to hurry into marriage; nor should an unemployed youth jump into jobs. Instead, every man and woman must weigh the available options side by side with the available counsel or guidance.

Just a while ago, a man advised me to do a particular construction work in a way in order to make the work durable and strong; however, he gave me that advice for his own pocket sake. I left him yesterday, thinking about the financial implication of his advice. When I met another person this morning, he gave me another advice that completely made the earlier advice unnecessary and exploiting. While advices are good, when you start anything (be it marriage, business, project or plan) on too little of them; you may just be on your way to wastefulness and mistakes.

I have therefore learnt by experience not to be too quick to act; nor too quick to speak. Patience must do it's perfect work in us, while we get busy with getting more wisdom on the best way or time to do or say anything. I rest my case as inspired by the Lord. God bless you richly!
