"And He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands and territories. 27 This was so that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grasp for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us."
Acts 17:26-27 (AMP)
Listen to Podcast: THE ULTIMATE PLAN OF GOD FOR NATIONS
One of the things that I have come to realize about God from the pages of the Scriptures is that God is interested in nations and the reason He is so much interested in nations is because He is the maker of nations. And we saw this attribute in Him when He said to Abram in Genesis chapter 12:2:
And I will make you a great nation,
And I will bless you [abundantly],
And make your name great (exalted, distinguished);
And you shall be a blessing [a source of great good to others];
Before this time in history of mankind, God had never made such a statement to any man that He would make a nation out of him. Even though there were people at the time, tribes, families who had constituted themselves into a nation (Genesis 10:5), God still has that plan to have His own nation, a set of people He would call His own and who will recognize Him as a sovereign God and serve and worship Him. So, God is the maker of nations. If He likes, He can make a nation great and if He likes, He can destroy them as well. Job 12:23 says "He makes nations great, and He destroys them, He enlarges nations, and leads them away."
The above passage simply tells us that God has the prerogative power over the nations. But the question we should probably ask ourselves is this: Why Is God Interested In Nations?
1. So That He Can Give Them Their Desire
"This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. 7 I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord Almighty."
Haggai 2:6-7 (NIV)
How beautiful will it be for nations to see their desires come to manifestation? This is why God is interested in them so that He alone would grant the desires of nations.
2. God Wants Nations Seek Him and Serve Him
"And He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands and territories. 27 This was so that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grasp for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us."
Acts 17:26-27 (AMP)
We know it was because of this reason that God raised up Moses and send him to Pharaoh to tell him to allow the children of Israel specifically so that they can serve Him (Exodus 8:1, 9:1). Any nation that won't serve God would incur the wrath of God. I mean Egypt is an example of what it means for a nation to incur God's wrath. Egypt won't worship the Almighty God and still, they won't allow the children of Israel to go. So, God needed to deal with them through all the plagues we read about in the book of Exodus. And the same still happens to day with nations who won't serve God too. I want us to examine Isaiah 34:1-4 and see what God says.
Come near, you nations, to hear;
And heed, you people!
Let the earth hear, and all that is in it,
The world and all things that come forth from it.
2 For the indignation of the Lord is against all nations,
And His fury against all their armies;
He has utterly destroyed them,
He has given them over to the slaughter.
3 Also their slain shall be thrown out;
Their stench shall rise from their corpses,
And the mountains shall be melted with their blood.
4 All the host of heaven shall be dissolved,
And the heavens shall be rolled up like a scroll;
All their host shall fall down
As the leaf falls from the vine,
And as fruit falling from a fig tree.“Therefore wait for Me,” says the Lord,
“Until the day I rise up for plunder;
My determination is to gather the nations
To My assembly of kingdoms,
To pour on them My indignation,
All My fierce anger;
All the earth shall be devoured
With the fire of My jealousy.9 “For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language,
That they all may call on the name of the Lord,
To serve Him with one accord.
10 From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia
My worshipers,
The daughter of My dispersed ones,
Shall bring My offering.Zephaniah 3:8-10
Pour out your wrath on the nations
that do not acknowledge you,
on the peoples who do not call on your name.
For they have devoured Jacob;
they have devoured him completely
and destroyed his homeland.Jeremiah 10:25 (NIV)
So, those two Scriptures shows us the strong desire of God that nations should serve Him, adore Him, revere Him and seek Him. Any nation that will not do so is only going to incur the wrath of God, but this is not God's plan for the nations.
3. So That God Can Reach Out To A People At Once And Not As Individuals
There are times when God would want to speak to a people at once and not as individuals. This is the number one reason why God forms nation. 2 Chronicles 7:14 tells us: "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." Also, Isaiah 43:1 tells us:
But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob,
And He who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
You are Mine.
4. So That God Can Easily Judge Between Nations
Another reason is so that God can easily judge between nations.
And He will judge between the nations,
And will mediate [disputes] for many peoples;
And they will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation will not lift up the sword against nation,
And never again will they learn war.Isaiah 2:4
5. So That God Can Reign Over Nations
God reigns over the nations;
God sits on His holy throne.Psalms 47:8
AUSTRALIA
For the nation of Australia, God is saying it is time to seek me. This is not the time to play religion, but the time to seek God. Even though you have been long gone away from Me, God is telling you it is time to come back to Him. And that is why this Mission is targeted towards the people over there right now.
Amen!
