Hello, welcome to the channel, my name is Gboyega Adedeji. I will like to share with you something I believe is going to help you become a better person indeed, a Better Leading You. What are we looking at today? We are considering How To Start and Finish Great Project. I am sure you understand that it is not enough to start great things. Everyone of us desire to finish whatever we start. While there are so many people starting different project every day, there are very few  people that conclude what they start. I don't want you to become a man, a woman who has millions of things he or she have started without haven completed any. I want you to have certain proofs to show for your effort.

So, I am sharing with you three things today that will help you become a better achiever, a great achiever in your own lifetime. The first thing I will like to share with you is:

 

PLANNING - You must have the right plan:

 

 You know we are considering "How To Start and Finish Great Project", however, you must understand that the foundation of great project is planning. There must be something you intend to achieve, something you want to accomplish. And until you have such, no project will become started. So if you ever intend to start a great thing, you must begin it with a great plan. A great plan shows you what you want to achieve, your intention, the plan.

 

So if you have a great project in view, you must have such project built on a great plan. You must understand before you begin what you want to achieve, lest when you have began, you lack the understanding of how to finish. I am sure you know, that if you do not know what you want to do, when you are doing it, you cannot measure your own progress. And so, if you want to start great things, and not only start great things, if you want to finish great things, then you must have a great plan. A great plan cannot be overemphasized, it is a necessity. It is not just a plan, it must be a great plan.

 

Another word for a great plan is "The Right Plan." For everything you intend to do, there must be a right plan for it, a plan to achieve what you intend to do. And so, haven treated that, the next step you must consider if you want to achieve great thing, if you want to start and finish a great project, is that:

 

You must have THE RIGHT STRATEGY!

 

Don't forget the first thing you must have is the right plan or you call it the great plan. The next thing which is also important is that you have the right strategy. You see, anyway does not lead to everywhere. There is a particular way that leads to a particular destination. Now, that destination represents your plan, what you want to do; "I plan to study", "I plan to finish my education", "I plan to move my business forward", "I plan to get married."

 

Whatever you plan to do, there must be a way you can achieve it. There are many people who don't have problem starting great things, they don't have problem having plans. What they lack is the capacity to strategize. They have issues finding the right way to get their dreams come to through. Great dreams without any strategy, will remain at the level of fantasy, it will never materialize. If something is so important to you, you must have a way to achieve it. You must have a way to get it from where it is, to where it must get to. So the right strategy is not a luxury, it is a necessity, if you want to start and finish great project.

 

Don't forget, anywhere does not lead to everywhere. There is a way that leads to every destination, and if you must complete a task that you have planned and intended, then you must have the right strategy that will lead you through the process into its completion. The next thing, which is the last thing you must understand if you want to start a great project, if you want to finish great project is that:

 

 YOU MUST SYNCHRONIZE your plan, your strategy with your personality

 

And so, the first thing is your plan, which is important. It shows the intention, what you want to achieve over a period of time. "After five years, after four years, I want to become so and so, I want to start so and so business, I want to spread the business, I want to expand, I want to start an MBA, I want to start this company, I want to start this organization."

 

Whatever you want to do, whatever, you must have it planned out, you must have it written down. You could call it vision, you could call it a strategic goal, you must have a plan in place, something you want to achieve. The next thing we said is that you must have the right strategy. There is a particular way that will get you into the actualization of your dreams. Great dreams, great! But you must have the strategy to actualize it. And so, the last thing we want to consider is synchronizing your plan, your strategy, with your personality.

 

You see, your personality has so much to do with who you really are. I want you to know that while you could be able to start a number of things, not everything that you have started or you plan to start, synchronize or align with your personality. Many people have started many things only to realize that what they began has nothing to do with their core, it doesn’t connect with them. It doesn’t strike any cord within them. Beyond the money, beyond the prestige, beyond the peer pressure, beyond the influences from family, they have no personal push into doing whatever they want to do. And so it’s not enough for you to start something only for it to be written in the statistics that ‘so, so and so’ has started something, you must understand that it’s not enough to start, it’s about finishing, and you cannot finish anything that is outside the zone of your personality.

 

You see, every personality ha strength and weakness and you must understand the zone of your own personality strength and then you must align your plan and your strategy with your personality strength zone. There is something you can do that others cannot do. There is something that others are doing that if you try to do, you will struggle. I am sure you are even a witness to the fact that you are struggling a lot trying to do what your friends are doing, your family members are doing. It’s not about you competing with people; it’s about you getting your own dream actualized. And it’s not about competition. It’s not about you comparing yourself. "If only she can do it, I can do it." It’s not about that. She may be able to do it if it connects with her personality, but you may not be able to do it because it has nothing to do with your own strength. You must be able to find the right plan, the right strategy and connect the two with your personality.

 

Your personality actually has strength; there is something about you that only you can do. And if you continue to juggle between things thrown at you by people, by friends, by your company, not necessarily things that you have personal link to as a person, then you will have little or nothing to show for your effort over a  period of time. If you must have something to show, then you must be able to find the right plan, mix it with the right strategy and make sure the two connects well with your personality. The moment your plan and your strategy do not connect with your personality, I will advise that you throw it away. There are millions of options, millions of ideas or perhaps, billions of them out there. It is not every one or every idea that connects with you. You must find your own and then plan, strategize and align it with your personality towards fulfilling it.

 

Great dreams can be finished. Great projects can be started and completed by you if you mix these three things very well together. And I found a Scripture that I believe will be of great help to somebody. It says, ‘but those who compare themselves with themselves.’ It says, ‘they are not wise.’ Those who measure themselves by themselves, they are not wise. I am sure you understand that. What that Scripture was trying to say was that, make sure you don’t measure your own success by what others are doing, and that is to also buttress the point that you have personality strength. There is something you can do that others will struggle to do. Make sure your plan and your strategy mix well with your personality strength. Don’t plan and strategize on your weaknesses. It will only expose you further, the flaws around your life. What you should do is to build around your strength. Plan and strategize around it.

 

You mustn’t forget that every way does not lead to everywhere and if you must get to your own end, your own accomplishments, your own achievements, and then you must find the right way that will lead you there. And so we have seen that if you want to start and finish great projects, you must have the right plan, you must have the right strategy and then you must mix the two well with your personality. If they don’t align, then you must start again with a new plan, a new strategy. And again, if it does not align with your personality, start again with a new plan, a new strategy. Until your plan and your strategy align well with your strategy, then I would advise that you do not start it, lest you are said to be like those who start many things, but complete nothing.

 

Alright! We have come to the end of the broadcast today and I believe you have learnt something. If there is anything you mustn’t forget, it is that you can actually start and finish a great project, however, you mustn’t betray your personality. Have the right plan, have the right strategy and then, do not betray your personality. There is something about you that you must always align other things to, if you want to finish what you want to start. Don’t start something you don’t love. Don’t start something because people say start it. Start something that you love and you will do continue, so that you will finish.
