It is often said that when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. Every man is created with a purpose and for a purpose; therefore, it is not possible for a man who does not know his purpose to fulfill the purpose for which he has been created. In other words, a man who does not know the agenda of God will find it difficult to fulfill the agenda of God on the earth.

 

So, in order to fulfill Gods agenda, it is important to know Gods agenda. If perhaps you are like me asking; What is actually the agenda of God for the earth? This article provides a fundamental understanding into what Gods agenda is. Why it is important to know this? Because the knowledge of God’s agenda gives us a clue as to why we are created and for whom we were created.

 

 In Isaiah chapter 11 verse 9, the Bible says; “For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” Prophet Habakkuk reiterated the same prophecy in chapter 2 verse 14 of Habakkuk; “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” I would like you to note this word “will be filled”. This is an expression of future tense or an expression of inevitable event.

 

It then means that it is the desire of God, it is the will of God that the earth be filled with the knowledge of His glory. But the responsibility to make this a reality is on you and I. Even though God intends it, even though God desires it, if there are no men to partner with God, it will never become a possibility. So, having known the agenda of God, having heard God say who will go for us? Will you respond like Isaiah with an expression of willingness, saying here I am Lord send me.  

 

 Another very important word I would like you to note is the “knowledge of His glory”. What is knowledge and what is glory? Knowledge talks about facts, information, and skills acquired through experience or education, which could either be theoretical or practical thereby producing an understanding of a subject or a person--God. The kind of knowledge that the earth should be filled with is the knowledge that is been taught or produced by the Spirit of knowledge. It is called the word of life. You must have heard it, you have seen with your own eyes, you must have gazed upon it and touched it with your own hands. This is when it becomes like a fire in your bones.

 

 

What about glory? Glory talks about magnificence or great beauty.  One among many other things I have discovered about glory is that it is the representation of the character or nature of a kingdom. For example; If God’s kingdom is the kingdom of Light, whoever comes from that kingdom will inevitably carry an ambience of that kingdom. Another definition I found to be very apt in the context of what the Holy Spirit has inspired me to share in this article is that; Glory is a halo appearing around the shadow of an object. It means that when the glory of the Lord alights or rises upon you, there is a brilliance, a glow that makes an object or a people which could be in darkness to become glistering or make them see Light. So, you are not just a partaker of Light, you are also a giver of Light. So, there is a knowledge that produces Light. The desire of God is so that the earth be filled with the knowledge of His glory; the reason is because the earth according to Genesis chapter 1 from verse 1 to 2, was without form and was void and dark. So, just as Light appears, you are expected to appear, and when you do, you diffuse the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. (See 2 Cor 2:14)

 

This was what formed the basis for the creation of Light. And if there is going to be a perpetual shift or extension of that pattern God began in the beginning; verse 3 of Genesis 1, there must be as a matter of necessity the extension of Light to other parts of the earth. This is the ultimate reason why Jesus said; “Go into all the nations; go even unto the uttermost part of the earth.” What He was simply saying was take the Light to all the earth, take the knowledge of Christ to all the earth. Because, Christ has made you the Light of the world. So, how can we then fill the earth with the knowledge of the glory of God?

 

#. The first thing is that we must become a love being. Bible says; “What no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has conceived — God has prepared these things for those who love him.” (1Cor 2:9) There is no Light or knowledge outside of love. This means that Light or secrets are prepared and kept for the lovers of God. The true Light that produces life is not produced without the introduction of love. Jesus said it is through love that people will know that you are my disciples, that you are children of Light. So, where there is no Light there is no love, and where there is no love Jesus cannot be seen. Jesus asked Peter do you love Me? If indeed you love me, feed them in the strength of the Lord. (Emphasis mine) The diffusers of the knowledge of the glory of God, the fulfillers of the agenda of God on the earth are lovers of God.

 

#. The Second thing is that we must become one with God’s dominion mandate.

What is dominion? Dominion talks about being assigned a territory to rule and carry out administrative responsibilities. And this is an offshoot of love and Light. Dominion talks about dominance or exercising power through legal authority. So, becoming one with God’s dominion mandate is directly proportional to knowing Jesus-the Light of the world, loving Jesus and shining the Light of Christ.

 

The concept of dominion may sound or look complex, but it could also be as simple as knowing Jesus. The reason is because, it is the knowledge of Jesus that makes you count the things of this world as rubbish, reaching out for the excellent things that cannot perish. This why you must not be encumbered with so many things or carried away by what is happening in the world; sit at the feet of Jesus, there you will find what can never be taken away from you—the imperishable. If you can know Him you will find strength for exploit, you will find wisdom, glory, riches, power, honor and blessings. How do I know this or why am I bold to say this? Colossians chapter 2 verse 3 says; “In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” The amplified version says; “In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge [regarding the word and purposes of God].” This is talking about Jesus. So, if you can know Jesus, you have found the hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge; and in addition, the word and the purposes of God.

 

Foundational to the understanding of what knowing Jesus can make happen for us is written in Revelations 5, and I will read verse 10. Bible says; “¹⁰ And have made ^[d]us kings^[e] and priests to our God; And ^[f]we shall reign on the earth.” This is talking about what Jesus had done for us. It says “And has made us kings and priests”. I would like you to note this word; “has made us”. Remember the Scripture says “for we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10)

 

So, when God was speaking in Genesis 1 verse 26, “Let Us make man; How did He intend to make man? Man was to be made, prepared, equipped and fashioned in Christ to become a king and a priest. This Scripture says; “In Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion.” Until man becomes a king and a priest he cannot be in dominion. Meaning that dominion is powered by kingship and priesthood; these dimensions can only be found in Christ. So, until you become this kind of man, you have not become one with His dominion mandate, you cannot fill the earth with the knowledge of His glory, you cannot fulfill His agenda on the earth.

 

Having become a love being, having received the mandate of dominion as a king and a priest, you must then become a man that will count yourself not to have apprehended but pressing on to lay hold of the things which Christ has laid hold of you. This brings us back to purpose. It is the knowledge of your purpose that makes you take this posture. And that was why I began by saying when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. So, if you don’t know why you were created, and for whom you were created, you will find it difficult to lay hold of that which Christ has laid hold of you. And the reason which Christ has laid hold of you is because you must you must fulfill His agenda.  

 

The charge of the Holy Spirit as scripted through the hands of Apostle Paul in Philippians 2 verse 14 to 16 is that; You “Do all things without ^[d]complaining and disputing, ¹⁵ that you may become blameless and ^[f]harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as Lights in the world.” Did you see that? This is how to become one with God’s dominion mandate. Verse 16 says; “Holding fast the word of life.” A man who holds fast the word of life is a man whose life can become the Light of men. I pray as you do so, God will continue to grant you more grace in the name of Jesus.
