From the days of the garden of Eden till this very day, Satan has remained a stranger on the properties of God’s sons. No matter how long a pig spends in water, it is not enough to make it a sea creature. In like manner, the devil can never become a co-heir with Christ and the redeemed of the Lord. So that you don't begin to think that the WORLD as a place belong to the devil, the devil is not the owner of the WORLD, it belongs to our Father.
The Bible says, "The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; but the earth [talking about a dwelling place] He has given to the children of men [not the children of the devil] (Ps. 115:16)." That is not all, see another living proof why you must not allow the devil to oppose you on our lawful inheritance:
“Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool (Isa. 66:1).”
There is no king who is seated on his throne, and the footstool would be placed on the boundary of another kingdom. For the fact that our God is seated in the heaven of heavens, and His footstool is upon the earth (or the earth itself), it means that the earth is the property of our God. We are on our lawful inhabitation. Even the devil knows this truth, and it trembles.
When Jesus Christ said, " The prince [talking about the devil] of this WORLD is coming, and he has nothing in me, to accuse me of". He was not referring to the World as a place of dwelling, but the world as a system, the system of unrighteousness. The devil as the prince of unrighteousness, the father of sin, the grandpa of iniquities. JESUS was not talking about geographical location at all, but a built-up style of life against anything that is holy and acceptable to God — a system of rebellion.
The world system of sin is not of God, that is why a Christian must not love the world, the fashion of the world, the lifestyle of the world that is momentary. The fashion of it perishes with time.
No matter how a man or woman chase after the world, the life of it, the form and its fashion, it is not possible to catch up with the fashion of the world. It recycles at a very fast pace, so that no matter how fast any one is running after the pleasure, entertainment, and melody of the world, you can't catch it, not to talk of holding it to a stand for just as brief as a second. Nobody that desires it delicacies can ever be satisfied. The moment you open your month to say, "I like this particular fashion, design, or style," before you close it, another succulent fashion is just been released, and you will want to abandon the first choice to run after the new, and just as you are about to close the deal for the second choice, something more elegant is just on the news, such a conflicting war of desires and endless choices of unsatisfying quest for more.
How can anyone that loves the world ever be satisfied with many or more? Not even forever can be enough for a worldly appetite and quest to say it is enough. Don't let your feet go the way of the world, nobody that has gone its path ever pause to think again, so it will continue till the time of life is passed.
According to Ecclesiastes chapter 1 verse 18, the Bible says, “For in much wisdom is much grief, and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.”
Our satisfaction is not in our lust and craving for more and more earthly increase. More quest does not satisfy the soul, no, not even for once. The soul that is lustful cannot stop lusting after more. JESUS says, "Come unto Me, and you will find rest for your soul". There is no other way your rest can be secured, except in Christ Jesus and by Him alone. Your rest is sure when you come to Him, and remain in Him. Don't just play lips service with God, it has not profited anyone before, neither will it profit you, nor I.
Joshua told the children of Israel in Joshua 24 verse 15: "And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the river [the lust and the fashions of the world], or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord?” You can recall this question for yourself too, how long will you keep checking in and out on God, when are you going to settle in Christ Jesus, to begin to live for the Will of God, and the Glory of God? None of us have eternity to take this decision. Make up your mind today, and you will discover the fruit of living; a true life of righteousness in the midst of the world.
