It was love that took Him to the Cross, not Roman's authority. It was love that took Him to the grave, not the finger of men. It was love that held Him in the grave for three days, not the power of death.
The love of Jesus Christ is amazing! It is unconditional and boundless. Jesus spoke of the authority He was given by the Father as regards His choice to accept to lay down His life, or not to suffer for the world according to John chapter 10 verse 18. See what the Bible says, "No one takes it [My life] from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have the power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”
But love made Him to do the impossible for man; He paid the handsome price of love for humanity. He gave all, He gave His life; the peak of love.
What can you pay for the love of Jesus for you? Could money pay for the love of Jesus for us? Could offerings of goods, lands, and golds pay for this great love?
Friend, nothing can pay for this love, but LOVE. Only love can pay back for love. We were held up in darkness, shut up, for a ransom we could not pay. He came to negotiate the cost of the ransom, and our prisoner (the deceiver) said it wouldn't take anything less than His life. The devil thought Jesus would look away, change His mind, but love said no.
The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles: the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death a light has dawned. (Matt. 4:15-16.)
He paid our ransom; all that was demanded to let us go. Love paid for us our ransom, nothing else can pay for the love that paid the Ransom for our sin (both sin nature and sin of acts), except love.
Love is the payback currency for the love of God for us in Christ Jesus.
We are debtors of love. We owe no man nothing else but love. No matter how wicked the next person or neighbor is to you, you are a debtor to love him or her. We can't pay anything else to Jesus for the love He has for us, but love, only love in return.
How do I pay my debt of love to Jesus?
Jesus said to Peter, "Do you love Me than these [activities, goods, and cares of this life]?". Peter replied, "Lord, You know that I love you [even than my life and all the profits of life]". Jesus said to him, "Then feed [tend and care] for My sheep [do My Will for you]". (See John 21:15-18.)
Loving Jesus is not singing danceable songs, it is not activities, it is loving the course of Jesus — becoming one with the interest of Jesus. It is doing for others what Jesus is doing for people. Loving Jesus is allowing Jesus to use your hand, leg, mouth, money, house, land, job, business, eyes, position, education, compassion...to do for others what He wants to do for your neighbors and others around you (regardless of blood bonds).
What is it that Jesus wants to use your space, hands, talents, calling, or gifts to do for others?
Have you allowed Jesus in your space yet? Does Jesus command your life and resources? Friend, we are debtors to Christ, we owe Him love for the rest of our lives on the earth. He paid so much that we will not continue as slaves to the slave master, the devil, nor as slaves to the appetites of the flesh. We can never overpay; our life span is based on how much He needs us to be relevant for Him in every place we are.
Don't forget, we are love debtors to Christ, and our life span is to the degree that we have to keep showcasing Jesus in love to our generation, to people around us, those in our space, in the very thing that Jesus wants to be manifested to them.
I pray you (and I) will always do Jesus proud in Jesus’ name!
