Patience simply means the ability to await the right time for an event while doing the needed thing(s) or preparation.
As simple as patience appears to the human senses, a little drift from it is enough to wreck or finish up anybody's life no matter how great for the rest of the person's life.
Many people that would have lived beyond the next second, minute, hour, day, month, year, decade or century had passed into eternity earlier than the appointed time due to impatience.
Impatience is one of the most dangerous and swiftest destructive tools in the hand of Satan and Self-life. Even the fall of Lucifer/Satan was prompted by impatience and greed.
Living our Christian lives in the present time to finish well and accomplish the purpose of God for our lives; one of the strong characteristics of our Father (God) that we must learn and emulate is His lifestyle of PATIENCE.
Impatience can terminate our career in life and journey with God faster than the speed of light. Impatience is not just a tool for destruction by Satan but a destiny killer and waster.
Acting like God in our daily activities shouldn't be compromised, if God must be glorified in our lives, the lifestyle of patience must be inculcated and manifested in our everyday life.
God's act of patience is tremendously and awesomely amazing. The Lord said to Abram, “Go forth from your country, and your relatives and your father’s house, To the land which I will show you; And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, and make your name great; And so, you shall be a blessing..." (Gen. 12:2).
God called Abraham as one man, to inherit a blessing and destiny. God gave His promises of making a nation out of Abraham (one man), just a single man from the start.
Common sense would have made anybody ask how long it might take to achieve the promises and if it is worth settling down for. And if God were to act like sons of men, since the goal was to raise a nation; it wouldn't have been a bad idea anyway to recruit up to 100 men for the start instead of just one man. Even though it would take a long time to achieve the end goal, God was ready to be patient.
He never had the intention of enabling Abraham to start giving birth like a rat. Do you realize that, for God to teach us to learn from His life of patience, by His divine arrangement, Abraham only gave birth to just one child, (Isaac) the seed of promise from Abraham's body?
From Abraham to the time of Jacob's migration to Egypt, the survivors of Abraham's descendants were just 70 persons (including Joseph’s, sons) that migrated to Egypt from Canaan about 300 years away from the day God established His promises with Abraham to wait for the maturity of the divine promises. (See Gen. 46:27.)
After Isaac, the third generation migrated to Egypt, his descendants spent additional 400 years plus to reach the maturity of the promise.
At the right time, the promise of many years came to pass. It was delivered at the right time; even the Pharaoh of Egypt and all his officials and best warriors couldn't prevent the manifestation. He that made out the promises and the recipients of the promises knew it only required time for their manifestation or maturity, and they waited patiently.
Patience indeed is magic that never fails. They that buy it and never lose it are blessed by God. It is magical in the hand of God.
Dear friend, impatience will only rob you of His divine packages for your life. Who has said you wouldn't marry the woman/man of your dream? Who said you wouldn't get your dream job, car, house, possession, children, certificate...?
Will God become a liar because you are in need? Never! (See Hebrew 6:10, Rom. 3:4.)
A child of God will either imitate His Father (God) or work against His Father by imitating the world (Satan). The world lacks patience. You need not lose your patience and start handling the issues of your life in your way. You wouldn't like the result at the end. (See Gen. 47:9.)
The promises of the Lord stand no matter what faces us, or the setback we might encounter in life.
"Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need” (Matt. 6:33).
Hold up to Him. Patience is key to your divine inheritance. Don't forget, they that believe will not make haste. (See Isaiah 28:16). Believe Him, trust Him, and be patient with Him. You are the success He has in mind.
God Bless you
